In 1945, Pierre Balmain changed fashion history. The young designer, taking an audacious gamble on the hopes of post-Liberation renaissance for French fashion, established his eponymous house on one of Paris’ most impressive streets: at 44 rue François Premier, located in the heart of the legendary “Golden Triangle” luxury neighborhood. The impressive Haussmannian lines of Balmain’s storied flagship has inspired the silhouette of this elevated navigator style, which is set apart by its distinctive double-bar nose bridge. Fittingly, several signature Balmain embellishments enrich the design, including a lasered logo and the historic Labyrinth pattern, which covers the sleek side-caps. For Balmain Eyewear’s Fall 2024 collection, the Premier continues to riff on house signatures, offering the possibility of a striking matte-black finish that is paired with luxe golden details, echoing a favorite Balmain tonal pairing, which has been repeated, collection after collection, ever since Monsieur Balmain’s historic 1945 show.
